Introduction
Recently, translational research in the scientific world is a necessity. Effective connection between basic research and clinical application or translation of research results to clinical application requires an excellent strategy. Many aspects that require attention in development of translational research are basic research that leads from targeted therapy to clinical application research with a specific marker from laboratories to individual therapies. Cancer chemoprevention is defined as the use of natural, synthetic, or biologic chemical agents to reverse, suppress, or prevent carcinogenic progression to invasive cancer. Herbal extracts as well as numerous phytochemicals derived from herbal and edible plants have been reported could inhibit carcinogenesis process. Development of Cancer Chemoprevention Research in conjunction with clinical application needs to be pursued effectively; therefore it can be more beneficial to human welfare, especially in dealing with health problems. The success of several recent clinical trials in preventing cancer in high-risk population suggests that cancer chemoprevention is a rational and appealing strategy.
