3. Morphology of Plants

Hibitus : Shrubs, annual, upright, ± 3 m high.
Stem: Spherical, woody, hard, ± 9 cm diameter, young purple after old dirty white.
Leaf: Single, serrated edge, pointed tip, base obtuse, 10-16 cm long, 5-11 cm wide, light green, green.
Flowers: Single, trumpet form, in the armpit leaves, petals form a bell, sharing five, yellowish green, the crown is composed of fifteen to twenty petals, pink, stamens many, stalk red sari, yellow anthers, pistil tube shape, red.
Fruit: Small, oval, ± 4 mm in diameter, a young white after old brown.
Seeds: Flat, white.
Roots: Stables, light brown.

4. Chemical Ingredients
Leaves, flowers, and roots of Hibiscus rosa sinensis contains flavonoids. In addition, the leaves also contain saponins and polyphenols, flowers contains polyphenols, roots also contain tannins, saponins, scopoletin, cleomiscosin A, and cleomiscosin C.

5.Usefulness and efficacy
H. rosa sinensis leaves
efficacious as a medicine in children fever, cough medicine, and thrush medicine. Nigerian society, the leaves are used as an enhancer H. rosasinensis vitality of men (aprodisiaka).Dada et al., 2007, prove that the ethanolic extract of the leaves of this plant provide a marked anabolic effect with an increase in body weight of rats (22%) and the weight of the testes, epididymis, seminal vesicles and prostate. The ethanol extract of flowers of this plant are also reported to lower total blood cholesterol and serum triglycerides (20-30%) and to increase HDL levels by 12% and lowers blood sugar levels (Sachdewa A, and Khemani LD., 2003).
