3. Morphology of Plants

A large tree, 20-25 m high, rooted riding. Straight stems, rounded, rough surface, blackish brown, branching simpodial, on the rod out hanging roots (aerial roots). Single leaf, short-stemmed, location cross face, oval shaped, edge of the flat, sharp edge, base obtuse, 3-6 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, bone pinnate, green. Single flower, out of the armpit leaves, petals form a funnel, rounded crown, smooth, greenish yellow. Buni fruit, round, long, 0,5-1 cm, green when young, red when old. Seeds round, hard, white.

4. Chemical Content and Efficacy
Aerial roots contain amino acids, phenol, sugar. Diseases that can be treated: colds, high fever, tonsillitis, arthritic joint pain, injuries hit (bruise), influenza, inflammation of the airways (bronchitis), whooping cough (pertussis), malaria, acute intestinal inflammation (acute enteritis), dysentery, and hot seizures in children.

5. Anticancer Research
Based on empirical data, banyan able to treat or prevent cancer. White banyan has the same content that are saponins, flavonoids and alkaloids capable of inhibiting cancer cell growth rate (chemopreventive agent).
