a. Description
Habits : herb, annuals, length ± 5 m. Stem : round, branched, soft, gummy, segmented, each segment can grow roots, forming tubers, pale green. Leaves : single, stemmed, round, pointed tip, flat edge, slim base, bone pinnate, length 4-14 cm, width 4-11 cm, green. Flower : compound, trumpet shape, in axillary, bell-shaped petals, five bulge, green, crown funnel shape, length 3-4,5 cm, white, five stamens, attached to the crown, pistil forms such as thread, anthers small, white. Fruits : box, ovoid, 2-4 shapes, green when young after old black. Seed: small, diameter ± 1 mm, dirty white. Root : taproot, white. (Syamsuhidayat and Hutapea, 1991)

b. Benefit
The leaves efficacious as a ulcers medicine, febrifuge, and burn treatment. Red potatoes reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer, control blood sugar levels, and maintaining memory (anti senile).

c. Contents
The leaves and roots contain saponins, flavonoids, polyphenols. Red potatoes contain vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, vitamin B such as B6 and folic acid, fiber, complex carbohydrates, and low in calories.
