Participation of CCRC Pharmacy UGM Attending APOCP-9 in Jeju Island Korea

WhatsApp Image 2018-04-23 at 13.09.35Asian Pacific Organization for Cancer Prevention (APOCP-9) is an international conference relating to cancer prevention in asia pacific. The event was held di Lotte City Hotel Jeju, Korea on 19 and 20 April 2018, with the theme “Cancer Control is Now Here in Asia”. The event was attended by researchers and academicians asia pacific. Representatives from Universitaas Gadjah Mada to attending this event are Prof. Dr. Edy Meiyanto, M.Si., Apt. and Muthi Ikawati, M.Sc., Apt.
After registration on the first day, Dr. Keun Young Yoo as the President of APOCP (Korea) gave the welcome address to open the event. APOCP session on the first day consisted of two interesting talks. Dr. Malcolm Moore (Thailand) as the APJCP journal editorial office, who is also the founder of APOCP, gave talk about the organization and the journal history. Dr. Kazuo Tajima from Misugi Clinic, Japan gave an insightful talk on the general perspective on Asian cancer epidemiology and the contribution of APOCP. On the second day, we were scheduler for poster presentation (total about 70 posters were exhibited for each day). As for the title posters of each representatives are Distinct Mechanism of PGV-1 toward HER2 Over-Expressed and Highly Metastatic Breast Cancer Cells presented by Prof. Dr. Edy Meiyanto, M.Si., Apt. and Cyclohexagamaboronon (CHGB)-0, A New Curcumin Analog, Induces Cell Cycle Arrest on Cancer Cell Lines with Low Toxicity to Normal Cells presented by Muthi Ikawati, M.Sc., Apt. Before that, we attended symposia on Cancer Chemoprevention: Selected Molecular Mechanisms, oral presentations, and the Young Investigator Awardee Session. Prof. Dr. Edy Meiyanto was awarded as one of the best poster presenter at the event.
